DEFENDING Nadi Rugby Union champions Airport received a major boost after securing a timely sponsorship from the Namaka Medisure Pharmacy for the 2012 season.
The Airport Rugby Club was presented with their new Canterbury brand playing strip by the sponsors last week.
ARC president Cohan Politini said they would be out to defend their title when the Nadi Rugby Union club competition commences.
He said securing a sponsor at this time was very tough as many businesses in the Jetset town had been badly affected by the floods.
"We are grateful to Namaka Medisure Pharmacy for their sponsorship," Politini said.
"The team is proud to don the Canterbury brand jersey. We hope to do well this season. All the other clubs will be gunning for us as we are the defending champions. So we will have to maintain our consistency in a bid to defend the title."
Airport won the Sportszone sponsored NRU club competition title last year after finishing ahead of 2010 champions Saunaka.
The NRU officials will hold a meeting this week to decide on the new dates for the recommencement of the club competition after the matches were cancelled due to the floods.
