TODAY, thousands of people around the country will be enjoying an extended weekend.
Some will be heading to the beach if there is good weather. Some will be trying to recover from a weekend of fun with family and friends.
And some will be recapping on lessons they have probably learnt as part of their enlightenment on the reason behind the Easter weekend.
Whatever your take is on this long weekend, we hope you have attained goals you probably set.
We hope the weekend, including what's left of it today, has been fruitful.
But lest we forget, there are thousands of people who are still trying to recover from the horrors of the destructive floodwaters in the Western Division.
These people may not have had the opportunity to celebrate Easter as well as they would have liked.
To help them get back on their feet were thousands more who gave their time and effort to bring relief to affected areas in the Western Division. For those of us who were fortunate to be out of the disaster zones, we hope you will take time out to think of those less fortunate.
As the State machinery churns out the hours, slowly getting people back on their feet, let us be considerate and think of our fellow citizens.
Again, as some of us head back to various destinations around the country, let us be careful and be mindful of the need to be alert always.
If we are travelling on our many roads, let us be conscious of the need to be considerate of those who are also using the roads.
Stick to road rules. Let us plan our journey well and plan to arrive at our various destinations on time and alive.
Let us stick to the speed limits and not drink and drive.
As we gear up for another week at work and school, we hope the long weekend has been good and the message of hope that Christians know by heart will rub off on many of us.
Easter has a message of hope and the crucifixion and resurrection story, Christians know, brings with it a reason to believe in the goodness of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christians the world over believe it is a story filled with sacrifice and the willingness of the Lord to die on a cross on Calvary to wash away our sins.
We hope Easter has left an impression on your life in whatever way you believe is good.
