POWER supply in most areas in the Western Division has been restored.
According to the Fiji Electricity Authority, good weather experienced in most parts over the weekend has allowed power restoration in the region.
FEA chief executive officer Hasmukh Patel said with power supply being restored in Nadi and Ba towns, customers whose shops were affected by floodwaters are requested to hire the services of registered electrical contractors to inspect and rectify their installations before FEA inspects and connects to the grid.
Mr Patel confirmed that 80 per cent of power supply was restored in Sigatoka, 82 per cent in Nadi, 96 per cent in Lautoka, 92 per cent in Lautoka, 72 per cent in Tavua and 84 per cent in Rakiraki.
He said the average restoration of power supply for the region was 86 per cent. FEA said people must continue to save energy.
