MORE National Rugby League (NRL) scouts are expected to be present at the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League competition final later this month.
Few NRL club scouts were in the country last week but missed the opportunity to see the Fijian talent in the final rounds of the Eastern school competition after the games were cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
But Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) operations manager Rusiate Ratakele said some NRL clubs have shown their interest to send their scouts to look out for the talented players in the grand final schedule for April 21.
"There were scouts from Newcastle Knights and West Tigers that came in (last week) and there will be more scouts coming in for the grand final to be held on April 21," Ratakele said.
Lomary Secondary School student Andrea Cocagi is the latest Fijian schoolboy to receive a scholarship from NRL club, Newcastle Knights.
Meanwhile, Ratakele said they were looking at the possibility of holding the remaining games in the Eastern conference on weekdays.
