FIJI police are continuing investigations into the death of an Asian national who was stabbed on Saturday night.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the man was involved in a fight at the Suva wharf with other Asian nationals when he was stabbed.

She said six other Asian nationals were taken to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital for treatment after the brawl and were later discharged.

"We are currently waiting for an interpreter to assist us so that we can continue with our investigations," said Ms Naisoro.

Meanwhile, she said police were also calling on mariners to exercise caution and stay on land during the adverse weather conditions after three fishermen were rescued yesterday.
