TOURSISTS are being advised to follow the advice of resort and hotel management where they are accomodated.
Fiji Islands Hotel and Tourism Association president Dixon Seeto issued the advice as he called for patience and thorough planning.
"We urge tourists to co-operate with the management of the places they are staying at. The secretariat has begun issuing advice to member hotels and their management will disseminate this information to the guests," Mr Seeto said.
He said the association along with the Society of Fijian Travel Associates, Tourism Fiji, Air Pacific and other stakeholders were constantly updated through teleconference with the permanent secretary of tourism.
"All tourists should follow up with the management of the hotels and resorts they're staying at. Management would be the most up to date in terms of travel advice and updates and the safety of our tourists is paramount," he added.
Mr Seeto said tourists' safety was paramount. He said getting them to the Nadi International Airport from their respective hotels and resorts should not be attempted without the advice of each establishment's management. Air Pacific spokesperson Shane Hussein confirmed the airline increased the number of international flights as tourists opted to leave the country.
