School terms

Saturday, January 31, 2009

THE Ministry of Education has released the new dates for the school terms this year.

Term one will finish on May 1 after 14 weeks of classes.

Term Two will also have 14 school weeks and start on May 18 and end on August 21.

Term three starts on September 7 and ends on December 4 after 13 weeks of school.

Interim Minister for Education Filipe Bole said even though the dates have been changed because of the floods, the number of school weeks remain the same. Students will be in school for a total of 41 weeks.

Mr Bole said schools throughout the country have been provided with the new term dates and other new dates for other education activities.

The new dates, he said, are noted in the education gazette of the first term.
