FORMER SDL minister Asenaca Caucau faces a $1000 fine or a jail term of one year for misdemeanors she faces in the United States.
Caucau is charged with domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.
According to San Francisco police reports, Caucau and her Fijian male companion were planning to get married in Sydney and were booked to board on a flight to Sydney from San Francisco on July 20.
But she arrived late and missed her flight.
Reports said while checking to see if her companion had departed, she witnessed him hugging and kissing another Fijian female at the airport.
Caucau allegedly confronted them and attacked them with her high heeled shoe.
The female victim suffered injuries.
