Disaster net to be launched

Update: 3:17PM A Pacific regional data and information resource, the Pacific Disaster Net, will launch a web based portal that will become a tool to answer natural disaster questions.

The Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC), as part of the Pacific Disaster Risk Management Partnership Network, will launch the web based portal tomorrow.

Pacific Disaster Net is a data and information resource for Disaster Risk Management (DRM).
 
SOPAC Risk Adviser, Noud Leenders said the website will act as a platform to exchange information easily and instantly.
 
"It hosts and provides documents relating to Governance, Risk Assessment, Early Warning and Monitoring, Disaster Risk Management, Training and Tools," he said.
 
"This information is provided by various sources like Countries, Organizations and Agencies - at national, regional and international level."
