Fiji is regarded as one of the richest Pacific island countries for wildlife, especially rainforest birds. It has:
87 bird species;
A total of 59 native land birds, 27 of which are endemic to Fiji;
There are 85 endemic subspecies;
12 of the species are regional endemics;
19 breeding birds;
Eight introduced breeding species;
Two extinct breeding species; and
11 species are threatened with extinction and another six are classified as near threatened.

5. Kadavu Fantail
6. Collared Petrel
