Prakash will carry flag at Paralympics

Ranjesh Prakash will be the lone athlete from Fiji's Paralympics squad competing in the Paralympics Games from September 6 to 17 in Beijing.

Confirming his participation FASANOC President Vidhya Lakhan said it was an achievement for Prakash and Fiji.

"I think it's quite an achievement for us that he qualified to represent Fiji," said Lakhan.

Prakash, who is partially blind ran his record time of 11.9seconds in 100 metres. And in the 200 metres he clocked 23.58s.

He met the criteria for selection with these times and he is looking forward to represent Fiji.

Iliesa Delana another member of Fiji Paralympics Team taking part in long jump also had chance to represent Fiji but fell short during trials.
