Extra month for cool initiative

Thursday, July 03, 2008

THE Fiji Times' Cool Change page will continue throughout this month.

This is due to the encouragement and enormous support from our readers for this initiative.

The Cool Change page is where we put renewed focus on local environmental and climate change initiatives.

These issues were supposed to be highlighted during the month of June only as part of celebrations for One Degree's first birthday and World Environment Day.

The Fiji Times editor-in chief Netani Rika said the company had been overwhelmed by the response to the Cool Page.

"It shows just how important the environment is to all of us," Mr Rika said.

"Due to the importance of the issue and the public response, we will continue the campaign until the end of the month.

"The Fiji Times is not just a newspaper. It is an employer, a taxpayer and above all a responsible corporate citizen as this campaign and our One Degree program shows."

So keep an eye out for more fabulous and interesting environmental issues on this page.
