The President has appointed a three-member independent group to monitor the process of the formulating of the People's Charter.
In a press statement, Ratu Josefa Iloilo appointed a banker who will chair the team, a Canberra-based diplomat and a church leader.
The team includes chairman, Geert van der Linden, a Dutch national and renowned banker, Robin Nair, a former international civil servant and diplomat and Reverend Amy Chambers, the Vicar-General of the Anglican Church and principal of the Saint John Baptist College, in Suva.
Their role is to monitor NCBBF meeting proceedings. "The team is to monitor the council's meetings, checking on transparency and inclusiveness, the credibility of the systems," he said in the statement.
"The nation-wide consultation process on the proposed Charter will be an important area that the team will monitor and report on.
"The issues of inclusiveness, and full participation by all communities of Fiji in the dialogue and debate on the proposed Charter, will be scrutinised by the group."
The team will meet three times before submitting a report to Ratu Josefa.
The group will be at the NCBBF special meeting on Tuesday.
