Update: 2:24PM INTERIM Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the article that was supposedly going to be printed by The Fiji Times was given to the Prime Ministers office by an employee of the newspaper.
"The article sent was a hard copy and it was given by a person who apparently works at The Fiji Times," said Mr Sayed-Khaiyum.
He said the matter had been obfuscating by just focusing on the article issue which has been blown out of proportion.
"Graham Leung has again made allegations, again through the press, predominantly through The Fiji Times," Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
"Hard copies of the article were given to the PMs Office and if it wasnt going to be published by The Fiji Times, fine.
"Or if The Fiji Times did not have it in its possession, as they are claiming, so be it.
"The issue is not specifically about the article."
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the article was about a number of issues that had arisen specifically in respect of The Fiji Times at that particular point in time.
He said at no time during his meeting with The Fiji Times
publisher Evan Hannah, was Mr Hannah threatened with deportation but
was told that as publisher, he was responsible for what is published.
