Fiji Women's Crisis Centre Shamima Ali co-ordinator says she will continue to make statements as a Human Rights Commissioner until her appointment is terminated by the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo.
Ms Ali was reacting to a press release by the Fiji Human Rights Commission Chairman Doctor Shaista Shameem issued on Thursday.
Dr Shameem said Ms Ali's appointment as the Human Rights Commissioner was terminated on February 16.
She said Ms Ali was appointed as the Human Rights Commissioner by Ratu Josefa in February 2006 effective for a period of two years.
"Any efforts by Ms Ali to continue to be represented by the media as the Human Rights Commissioner will not be entertained by the Commission," said Dr Shameem.
However Ms Ali she has not received any letter from Ratu Josefa and until she does, she will continue to make statements.
She said Ratu Josefa had appointed her and only he had the right to terminate her appointment.
