ASK any defender within the Fiji football circles who is the biggest threat for them and the answer will be, Roy Krishna and Pita Bolaitoga

The two were in top form yesterday as they helped Labasa thrash Navua 5-0 in the Super Six and win the New World National Football League title for the first time since 16 years at Ratu Cakobau Park.

The last time Labasa won the league was in 1991 and the win also ended Ba's hold on the tile since 2001.

Krishna nailed the opening goal and than combined well with Bolaitoga to show what he is made of. The youngster, who still is in his debut year for the Babasiga Lions, has feet which most strikers in the world would desire and is quick and cheeky with his every move.

Bolaitoga was also in commanding form as he got a hat trick in the match to match Krishna who got three goals in the 4-3 win over Suva.

The two will be tough for any defenders to contain during the IDC and this will make the Labasa coaching staff happy.

Labasa president Abhinesh Kumar said the duo were outstanding in their efforts this season.

"They have been playing very well and scoring goals in almost all matches," Kumar said. "While they have played very well, I would like to say that without a team effort we wouldn't have achieved anything. It is through the commitment, discipline and dedication of the players, officials and coach which has bought us this win." While the side will be one of the top bets for the IDC title, Kumar said they were wary of all teams.

"It is our aim to win the IDC but we will not underestimate any team," Kumar said.

Navua with imports from the Solomon Islands and New Zealand just didn't have the cohesion and combination to counter Labasa.

Goal keeper Fred Hale along with New Zealand trio Che Bunce, Matthew Williams and Stephen Morrell have been brought in by Navua for the IDC. While Bunce and Williams did take command coming onto the pitch after half-time, the Southerners still have a lot to do for the next few days.

Krishna opened the scoring in the seventh minute before Pita Bolatoga got the first of his brace of goals in the 25th min. He added another in the 42nd min before Henry Dyer made it 4-0, two minutes from half-time. Bolaitoga got his hat trick on 68th min.
