LAUTOKA schools Natabua and Saint Thomas dominated the Fiji Secondary Schools Hockey Association eleven-a-side tournament.

Saint Thomas took out the Bhasin Cup in the boy's competition.

The side defeated Saint Johns College 2-1 in the final.

Natabua High School reigned in the girls competition lifting the Westmere Trophy.

Natabua defeated Levuka Public 1-0 in the final. Defending boys champion Tilak High School failed to qualify for the quarter final while 2006 girls champion Saint Joseph Secondary pulled out.

FSSHA president Salote Nasome said the tournament was well organised. She thanked major sponsor Vinod Patel for their support.

"We were happy to have the Fiji Hockey Federation officials helping us run the games," Nasome said.

"There was an umpires clinic before the tournament. The team coaches, referees and and other officials were update on the latest law changes. Now they are well versed with the new rules and regulation."

Some schools pulled out of the event due to change in the dates for the school holidays.

Adi Cakobau School which won the Melaia Sandy Trophy in the seven-a-side last year withdrew along side Ballantine Memorial School and Jasper Williams High School.
