INTERIM Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama said he would attend the South Pacific Forum meeting in Tonga in October.
However, the interim Government has yet to put forward what it will hope to address at the meeting.
If he does go, it will be Commodore Bainimarama's first official engagement outside Fiji since taking up the post of Prime Minister in December.
On Helen Clark's sanctions against Fiji, Commodore Bainimarama said she was taking the matter personally.
He said Ms Clark thought countries in the Pacific such as Fiji were supposed to be little kids.
He said "they have been well ahead of us in terms of security that they think they can whistle and we come running. We are a sovereign state and look after the independence of our nation," he said
"Why is she doing this to us and why did we remove their High Commissioner Michael Green, because of interference.
"They are saying sure, we are part of the international community, but what do they have to do with us?
"She has nothing to do with the people of Fiji."
Commodore Bainimarama said while they were looking to China for loans and assistance, it did not change their foreign policy on trade with Australia and New Zealand.
He said they endorsed in Cabinet to seek assistance from China in certain areas and China would be delivering the goods.
