Fiji Architect John Achari is the master planner for the major project in Dubai.
Mr Achari said the project call the world and he was involved in part of the project called Oqyana (the Arabic name for Oceania) which involves master planning Australia, New Zealand and some other Pacific Islands.
"It's creating islands artificially and then designing them with residential departments, hotels, community facilities. So it's creating a new concept of living," he said.
Mr Achari said there were 10 international consultants involved from United States of America, France, United Kingdom, Lebanon, German, Danish, Swiss and Fiji.
Mr Achari said the total project cost about USD$2.5 million of which land cost USD$300 million and expected completion time is 2012.
Mr Achari, who was involved in producing the master plan for Yaqara Studio City, said he is doing some consultation for the project currently in Fiji and will be returning to Dubai next year.
Mr Achari, who had studied the market and has experience of consulting internationally, said he was invited to the project.
"I was asked whether I wanted to work on the team, and I went. I was there for five months the mater plan phase is completed," he said.
Mr Achari said construction starts in 2008.
Oqyana is world's first comprised 19 reclaimed man-made islands extended over a total area of 1,869,021 square meters with a total upland islands' area of 417,288 square meters.
It is the most luxurious community, lying closest to the mainland with the best views of Dubai.
