OLYMPIC 7s Champions, the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team has been drawn in Pool A of the 2018 Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.

The Jerry Tuwai-captained side is expected to face some serious challenges as they have been placed with two former Hong Kong 7s winners in New Zealand and Samoa. Russia makes up the fourth team in the pool.

Canada 7s runner-up Kenya is the top seed in Pool B and they will be joined by Australia, Spain and Canada.

2017/2018 series points leaders South Africa heads Pool C and they have been slotted in with England, Scotland and South Korea.

USA is the top seeded team in Pool D and they will be joined by Argentina, Wales and France.

Running alongside the Hong Kong 7s is the World Rugby Sevens Series Qualifier which will see 12 teams from World Rugby's six regions to fight the available spot in the series.

The winner from the qualifiers will replace the bottom placed team at the end of the 2017/2018 season.

Russia were promoted from last year's Qualifier tournament in Hong Kong after beating Japan in the final.

This year's Qualifier teams are Zimbabwe and Uganda (Africa), Jamaica (Americas North), Chile and Uruguay (Americas South), Hong Kong and Japan (Asia), Georgia, Germany and Ireland (Europe), and Papua New Guinea and Cook Islands (Oceania).
