THE Navy rugby team has set its course to win the 2018 Suva Rugby Union Escott Shield.

The side will play Queen Victoria School Old Boys in this weekend's competition after beating Nabua 26-3 at Bidesi Ground at Laucala Bay last Saturday.

"We have some new players in the team and we are trying to develop them further," team manager Ulaiasi Verevou said.

"The focus is to win the title and take each game as it comes.

"We are trying to improve our defence to deny our oppositions from scoring tries."

The team has players such as Semi Keli, Mosese Tikoduadua, Seru Cavulati and Usamaki Jitoko, who were impressive against Nabua.

The competition continues this week.
