Update: 2:42PM THE man charged with the murder of his wife has been ordered to reappear in the High Court in Labasa on March 23.

Appearing before Magistrate Cama Tuberi this morning, the suspect, Tevita Vuniwai, was denied bail considering the seriousness of the offence.

Mr Vuniwai had allegedly stabbed his wife, 22-year-old Amelia Babitu last Wednesday morning at the Navakamasisuasua industrial subdivision last week.

Magistrate Tuberi said the case would be transferred to the high court because it was an indictable offence.

He also ruled that the bail application be determined by the high court.
