Developments and growth at the Sugar City

IT has been a busy start for the Sugar City three months into 2018.

A plethora of activities has engulfed the city, with businesses reinvesting in shops and facilities to uplift Lautoka's image.

The most notable addition to the city has been the construction, completion and opening of TappooCity Lautoka, which houses a range of different outlets that provide one of the best in food, entertainment and shopping.

Apart from this, one of the most hyped up events of the past year was the reopening of Churchill Park after much needed renovation.

Since the opening, a multitude of sporting events have been hosted at the venue, many of which include high school athletics tournaments.

Sporting aside, the Sugar City has also played host to a number of cruise liners that have berthed at the Lautoka Port.

Tourists have had the chance to browse through shops to purchase mementos of their visits to Fiji before returning. During this time, many shop owners take the opportunity to display their products and services to guests, taxi operators are on hand to provide transportation and special buses are also hired to ferry passengers to and from the port.

In addition, a wide range of eateries are now available. Restaurants in Lautoka cater for a wide range of food lovers from authentic local food right through to Asian and European flavours.

Whether you prefer Indian, Chinese or simply local dishes, there are shops to suit all needs.

The business sector looks to grow even further in the coming months, with businesses upgrading their services and facilities to stay ahead in the competitive sector.
