FIJI Pearls will play New Zealand's Silver Ferns in a buildup to the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia next month.

The Vicki Wilson-coached side will play New Zealand, Jamaica and Malawi in the Taini Jamison Series which will be held in New Zealand later this month.

"We will be playing against some tough oppositions as we will play three Test matches plus we will play another match," Wilson said.

"The team will play four matches which would give us the match fitness that we need heading into the Commonwealth Games which we need."

Wilson, who was appointed the head coach of Fiji Pearls said the team had a busy schedule for this year.

"There will be 12 players named and we have to keep in mind that we have three distinct competitions ahead of us.

"We will have Taini Jamison Series, six Test matches in Commonwealth Games and we have the Oceania Qualifying Championship for the Netball World Cup 2019.

"We will have a very big month ahead of us, so need to see that we pick the player and able to sustain them for the qualifiers."

The games will be from April 4-15.
