AGE is no barrier for Fiji shooting rep Swee Seng Phua.

He is 62 and will be representing Fiji at the 2018 Commowealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

He is from Singapore, but has made Fiji his home.

He said it was a dream come true for him to compete at the Commonwealth Games.

"I have been in the sport for the past eight years," he said.

"Since I started in shooting in 2011, I have enjoyed the sport.

"I am glad that I have made it to the Commonwealth Games.

"It has been a good journey for me as I have competed in two Oceania Games, Pacific Games and compete in the world title competitions in Italy and Mexico and it is all about travelling around the world."

Phua, who is also known as Michael is a businessman.

He migrated to Fiji in 1999.

"I took up shooting as a part-time hobby and then I started loving it and once I found out that I was good at it, I started to give more in shooting.

"It is fun and good to be a shooter."

The games will be held from April 4-15.
