Cessna 172: Lutu to be laid to rest tomorrow

Update: 2:17PM THE body of the late Merelesita Lutu has arrived on Viti Levu and her body is now at the Suva Private Hospital mortuary.

The trainee pilot's sister, Alisi Lutu, said her sister's body arrived this morning at the Nausori International Airport and had been transported to Suva Private.

The funeral service will be held tomorrow at the Centenary Church in Suva at 9:30am and she will be finally laid to rest at the Suva cemetery.

The late Ms Lutu and instructor Iliesa Tawalo had left Nadi airport at 7:30am on Monday, February 26, with another trainee pilot Kalara Derederenalagi who got off at Labasa Airport.

Both Ms Lutu and Mr Tawalo were on their way to Savusavu but made their way back to Labasa when they could not land.

The two lost contact with air traffic control after midday on Monday.
