Saturday, February 24, 2018

A DECLARATION outlining key initiatives and focus of the education sector in the Commonwealth was launched after the successful completion of the 20th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (CCEM) in Nadi last night.

The conference, chaired by the Attorney-General and Education Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, was also attended by the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Baroness Patricia Scotland.

The Nadi Declaration focuses on key areas in education, particularly education governance and management, building resilience through education, education for sustainable development and strengthening educational partnerships.

The declaration will also be debated by heads of states during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in April.
