SHOWING her first art exhibition was a dream come true for 22-year-old Kimberley Sachs who takes great interest in the work that she does

"I am thrilled," said the former photojournalist whose love for art began at a very young age.

Ms Sachs said she did not expect the big turnout yesterday, but was thankful to those who made the time to attend her debut exhibition.

"I feel I have done a great job because before this even began, four of my paintings were being sold online," Sachs said.

Sachs' catalogue titled "Shadows and Light" is about seeing the world through the eyes of a young emerging artist.

The work portrayed is not confined to a single theme, but rather tells the story of an artist who is trying to find her voice. The art exhibition began on Thursday and ends on March 16.

Sachs is encouraging art lovers to visit the exhibition at the 21K Gallery in Suva from 10am to 3pm.
