Ministers and public transport

Nasik Swami
Thursday, February 22, 2018

NATIONAL Federation Party (NFP) provisional candidate Lenora Qereqeretabua says if she was in government, she would ensure ministers used public transportation for travel at least three times a week.

The local celebrity also said she would remove all the dark tints from ministerial vehicles and downgrade them when leases were renewed.

"In fact, I'd make everyone in Cabinet get a bus or taxi a couple of times a week and no blue and red lights except for emergency vehicles," Ms Qereqeretabua said.

She also outlined that if she was in government, all ministers and their dependents would have to go to public hospitals like everyone else, or pay from their pocket for private care.

Ms Qereqeretabua is currently in the Northern Division with the party leader Professor Biman Prasad on a one-week "Listen to the People" campaign.
