BLUE House won the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) School inter-house yesterday with 22 gold medals, 18 silver and 12 bronze medals.

In second place was Red House with 20 gold medals, 14 silvers and 15 bronze medals and Yellow House finished third with 19 gold medals, 8 silver and 10 bronze medals. Green House was at the tail end with 12 gold medals, 15 silver and 8 bronze medals.

School head of physical education, music, arts and culture (PEMAC) Artika Devi said the focus was to select a squad for the Suva secondary schools athletics zone one competition.

"Our athletes have been training for the past four weeks," Devi said.

"We are looking at taking a big number of athletes to the zone competition.

"We want our athletes to qualify for the Coca-Cola Games compared with last year where we took only three.

"We have told our athletes to train hard to improve their fitness."
