Panel for social justice

Wednesday, February 14, 2018

Update: 5:47PM IN commemoration of World Day of Social Justice next week, the Ecumenical Center for Research Education and Advocacy (ECREA) will hold a panel discussion to highlight ways in which the economic rights of Fijians have been violated.

A statement from ECREA said the event is aimed to critically analyse our economic background in relation to our current situation from a social justice perspective.

"The national minimum wage sits at $2.68 and this is totally inadequate given the high cost of living," the statement said.

"The objective of the panel discussion is to devise ways of ´┐Żbecoming´┐Ż together as a people for national building on social justice teachings for the good of all and not just a few."

The event will be held on February 20 at 5pm. The venue for the event is yet to be confirmed.
