Update: 1:56PM SEVENTY-nine women's clubs in Ba will benefit from the opening of the newly-constructed Ba Women's Forum training centre tomorrow.

The building cost the Japanese government $492,900 through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) Program.

A statement from the Japanese embassy in Suva today said the new training centre would increase the overall productivity of women by providing up-to-date training and facilitating their access to improved technologies.

"The various training and skills attained at the centre will ensure that the women will improve their employability, entrepreneurial livelihood opportunities, therefore, reducing poverty and their dependence on others as well as promoting sustainable and equitable socio-economic development," it said.

Ambassador of Japan Masahiro Omura will hand over the new training centre, which is located in Ba Town, to the Ba Women's Forum at midday tomorrow.
