Update: 1:39PM VILLAGERS of Buliya in the province of Kadavu are now experiencing strong winds measuring up to 75km/hr as a gale warning remains in force for the villages of Ono, Buliya and Dravuni in Kadavu.

Buliya villager Samu Koroiwasawasa said strong winds had continued to be felt across the village and people were taking necessary precautions.

"Yesterday, the weather was fine, the strong winds just started this morning and until right now as we speak," Mr Koroiwasawasa said.

He said the sea was also rough, but there was not any rain.

A special weather bulletin issued by the weather office in Nadi at 12:19pm said the gale warning remained for Matuku Island in the Lau group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

A strong wind warning also remains in force for the rest of Fiji.
