Wednesday, February 14, 2018

QUMUSEA District School where about 90 students travel to by boat to learn, was lit up after the installation of a new solar power network courtesy of some generous supporters of the school.

The solar network provided lights to seven classrooms, ceiling fans and power for the school's administrative machines.

It was funded by the owners of Nukubati Island Resort Jenny and Peter Bourke, and Australian couples Michael and Anthea Newton, Julie and Andrew Swann, who had been guests at the resort.

The solar network was installed by a new company called Krish Solar Supplies who provided clean energy sources in Macuata.

Students and relatives from nearby Naqumu Village celebrated the event with feasting, dancing and merrymaking.
