THE Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) continues to monitor infrastructure around the country as heavy rain affects parts of Fiji.

As of yesterday, a number of crossings and roads in the Western and Northern divisions were closed because of flooding.

FRA confirmed Savusavu crossing, Burelevu crossing, Navuniyamunu crossing, Lau crossing and Nausori crossing in Rakiraki had been inundated with water.

In the North, Vuniuto Rd and Nubu crossing were affected.

FRA said it would wait for floodwaters to recede before conducting inspections to see if any damage was sustained by these assets.

Meanwhile, members of the public have been urged to practise caution while travelling and not attempt to cross flooded roads and bridges.
