TUI Vitogo Ratu Wiliame Ratudale Sovasova has resigned from the Ba Provincial Holdings Company Ltd board.

In a statement issued yesterday, the company said Ratu Wiliame resigned last month.

"He had been a board member since 2014 as a nominee of the founders of the company, who are given a director's seat in the board by virtue of the fact that it was the chiefs of Ba Province who had initiated the formation of a provincial commercial entity to operate the assets of the province," a company representative said.

"He has cited ill health and other commitments as the reason for his resignation.

"In the Bose ni Momo AGM held on October 2017, the Tui Vitogo also stepped down from his position as president and chairperson of the Bose ni Momo ni Yasana ko Ba Trust. The Tui Vitogo has held the position since the trust's inception in 2014.

"The Turaga na Tui Tavua, Ratu Nacanieli Uqeuqe Ratu was elected as the new president and chairperson of the Bose ni Momo ni Yasana ko Ba Trust."

According to the company, the Bose ni Momo ni Yasana ko Ba Trust is an NGO registered under the Trust Act to represent the interests and act as an umbrella for the 24 traditional chiefly houses in the Ba Province.

The trust is one of the 596 Class A shareholders apart from the 593 land owning units, the Soqosoqo Vakamarama ni Yasana ko Ba and the Ba Youth Trust.

The trust also provides a forum for the chiefs to discuss matters and subjects of mutual interest.
