FIJI Airways 7s rep Eroni Sau received top commendation from his employer, the Fiji Police Force and its commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho.

Qiliho thanked Sau for a brilliant performance in the New Zealand 7s in Hamilton last weekend.

Qiliho spoke on how Sau's performance lifted the morale of the force.

"Thank you for the wonderful performance in both Sydney and especially Hamilton. To me, personally, you was the game changer. You made some decisive killer tackles when the odds were against Fiji and many times those tackles changed the whole course of the game to our favour," Qiliho said.

"For us your comrades, we are so proud of your achievement and every time you run on to the field, we know that underneath the white jumper is the beloved police blue.

"Your performance has lifted the morale of your workmates here at home and abroad."

Qiliho hosted the 28-year-old to a morning tea at the police headquarters at Centrepoint on Wednesday.

He said Sau was now a public figure and was famous among the children of Nasova and Nasese.

"You are a product of the Policing Fiji Through Rugby program and on behalf of the police family, I thank you and your family for allowing us to provide a platform for you to expose your talent."

He congratulated Sau for being named the 2017 Suva Police player of the year.
