Fiji two arrested for alleged sacrilege

Update: 12:23PM SUSPECTS involved in the desecration of two separate Hindu temples have been arrested and charged by Police.

Fiji Police Force spokesperson Ana Naisoro said a 22-year-old man will answer to sacrilege charges for his alleged involvement in the desecration of a temple in Wainibuku last month.

Meanwhile, Nakasi Police arrested and charged a man, also in his 20s, for the desecration of a temple in Sasawira.

"The team arrested the accused in Kadavu over the weekend and will be escorting him to Suva where he will be produced at the Nasinu Magistrates Court later this week," Ms Naisoro said.

"He has also been charged with one count of sacrilege."
