AT the age of 100 years, Vunivau resident Ramraji continues to care for her 50-year-old disabled daughter after her husband died two years ago.

The mother of seven said she could not handle the challenges anymore.

She is looking after her daughter Sunita Devi.

Ms Ramraji says she has no other choice but to seek assistance from good Samaritans.

Considering her age, she said she had grown old and too weak to take care of her daughter anymore.

"I have seven children but all are married and have their own families to take care of," she said.

"My disabled daughter is now 50 years of age and she has grown weak too, making it a challenge to look after her.

"I always receive $50 monthly groceries and $50 cash from the Department of Social Welfare which works well for both of us as we both don't eat that much."

Ms Ramraji said she found difficulty in bathing and preparing food for her ailing daughter on a daily basis.

"I am weak and cannot carry out my duties, but I struggle daily to cater for my daughter who is also diabetic," she said.

"Sunita was born a normal healthy baby girl and she went to school until she reached Year Four, when she got sick."

Ms Ramraji said when her daughter recovered from her sickness, she lost her memory and her condition deteriorated.

"I know it is a challenge but what can I do, I am a mother and this is my duty to my daughter," she said.

"We are seeking any form of help or assistance from good Samaritans out there to help me look after my daughter."
