MITLESH Sami and his wife Priya Sami wedded on Saturday but were faced with a misfortune a day after when their flat was broken into.

Mr Sami said they were still celebrating their special day in Nadera where their wedding was held when they received a phone call from his brother, Pranesh, informing him the news of the alleged break-in.

Mr Sami, who is a tenant at the Public Rental Board flats in Raiwai, said Pranesh and their cousin, Pawan Ganeshwa, were the only two sleeping in the flat when the alleged break-in occurred.

Pranesh said he woke up at 8am only to find some items missing from the house, and saw that the louvre blades in their kitchen window removed.

"Pawan and I did not even hear them come in last night because we were asleep after returning from Mitlesh's wedding ceremony, but when I woke up this morning I saw that the laptops and phones were missing," Pranesh said

According to Mr Sami the robbers stole laptops, mobile phones, a watch and cash.

The break-in was alleged to have happened in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed they were investigating the matter.
