ATS Impasse: Management applies for withdrawal

Saturday, January 20, 2018

Update: 12:10PM THE Air Terminal Services Fiji Limited management wants to withdraw an application it filed with the Employment Relations Tribunal.

And Magistrate Andrew See will make a decision on this application in the next half hour.

On Tuesday Mr See had called on Noel Tofiga, who is representing management, and ATS workers' representative, Kevueli Tunidau, to reach a solution that would allow the return to work of 220 ATS employees.

When the Tribunal convened this morning, Mr Tofiga asked the Tribunal for the case to be withdrawn.

Mr See had also said on Tuesday that the actions of both parties had been less than exemplary, but mamagment made the situation worse in not following procedures under the FASA and ATS agreement.

He also said the workers would have to be compensated for the 30plus days they were not allowed to work.
