Update: 7:38PM WITH the Term One of the 2018 academic year beginning tomorrow, the Ministry of Education will make a decision in regards to the current weather situation affecting the country at the moment should the need arise.

The Attorney General and Minister for Education, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at a press conference this afternoon said the Ministry has not received any reports of schools affected by the flash floods in the Western Division.

"We have not heard any report so far of any of the schools currently affected because of the students not being able to access the schools because of the rising waters," Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

"As in the past, should any issue arise we will address them accordingly," he said.

There have been reports of flash floods being received from certain parts of the Western Division and the Police they had to ask vehicle owners not to cross flooded areas and tell children also not to swim during this time.
