SHIPPING Services Suva Stallions is hoping for a positive outing at the 2018 Mana Whey Fiji Coral Coast 7s next week at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.

Peceli Derederenalagi, the team media officer, says their side is made up of young and upcoming talents who he believes could impress the national selectors.

Derederenalagi added the team was mostly made up of Nadroga players who are based in Suva.

The sides boots the likes of Fiji U20 rep Josateki Degei, Sevanaia Nadruku (former Nadroga rep), Vatemo Taniharava who was part of one 7s extended squad in recent years.

"There are no big names in the side and most of the players are unknown. They are old to the game but would be new to the media," he said.

"We have the Police side in the Coral Coast so players from Suva are fairly distributed. Our program started from the Raka 7s and we are trying to impress our supporters and sponsors especially when we have some young players who might be knocking on the door of the national selectors."

The Suva Stallions is coached by Suva rep Alipate Mataivilia.

The Suva Stallions are in Pool T with Lomavata Blues, Ravuka Sharks and Outrigger. The overall men's cup winner will receive $20,000 while the youths and women $10,000 each.

Defending champion First Light Taveuni is in Pool Q alongside Shangri-La's Daveta , Police, Sigatoka River Safari Henibua.

Fiji 7s legend Waisale Serevi, dual Australian international Lote Tuquiri, former Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan, former NZ 7s captain DJ Forbes and referee Rasta Rasivhenge will be special guests.
