LABASA stunned a star-studded Lautoka team 1-0 on their home soil to win the Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion title at Churchill Park last night.

The Babasiga Lions captain Antonio Tuivuna proved to be the hero for the visitors scoring the winner through a header in the 63rd minute.

Labasa was reduced to nine players in the second spell after Ilisoni Logaivou and Ashnil Raju were sent off.

It was a disappointing result for the Sugar City side which is preparing for the Oceania Football Confederation Champions League which starts next month.

Labasa with nine players on the field proved that the side would be no pushover this year.

The northerners collected $5000 for the victory.
