FIJI Rugby Union has partnered Jack's Fiji Qaqa as their official brand for the Skipper Cup provincial 10s that's worth $10,000.

Chief executive officer John O'Connor thanked Jack's Fiji for coming on board at such a short notice.

"As part of the sponsorship they have provided a set of jerseys to the seven teams that will play today," he said.

"Each team will receive 15 jerseys even though there is a registration of 30 players, with 15 players are allowed to play in a match and unlimited interchange in each match.

"Our other sponsors that have joined in are MaxValue Supermarket coming on board to support us in terms of running the tournament and we would like to thank the management of MH Carpenters in supporting the tournament.

"This is an inaugural tournament and next year we're hoping to have a bigger tournament involving all teams participating in the Skipper and Vodafone Cup.

"We hope to make it bigger and for this is the selection of our national team to the Brisbane 10s."

Jack's Fiji brand manager Biu Tadranu said they had wanted to be part of this inaugural FRU 10s tournament as the official kit supplier to the 7s team participating.

"This is the first time for us to come on board to partner Fiji Rugby Union and also the first 10s tournament that FRU has organised and we're honoured to be part of this event for the first time and is an opening to the 2018 rugby season.

"Jack's Fiji has been for the past years supported the development of rugby in the country and we will continue to do so.

"Qaqa is a Fijian sportswear brand, Fijian name, Fijian owned and Fijian designed and we have come on board to support the tournament along with Jack's Fiji. Now that we've seen the growth of rugby in the country and as a local brand and company we have Fiji at heart and we also have rugby at heart.

"We have demonstrated this though our partnership with the top four teams in Fiji which includes Naitasiri, Nadi, Namosi and Suva.

"Fortunately for us even though we missed out on the Skipper Cup we managed to win the HFC Bank Farebrother trophy through Qaqa Namosi rugby.

"We have shown our commitment in the past and through our Fijian sportwear Qaqa, we are assured the Fijian community that we will bring to Fiji the latest innovative sportswear brand."
