Avoid back to school impulsive buying

Monday, January 08, 2018

Update: 5:13PM AVOIDING the urge to shop impulsively is what parent, Paulini Driso believes helps her keep to her budget for her back to school shopping this year

Shopping for her nine-year old son's back to school essentials has taken a lot of patience and planning and this has helped Ms Driso complete her shopping at M.Bhagwan in Suva today.

As her son is about to commence Year 4 at Suva Primary School and with more planning this year compared to past years, Ms Driso said she only spent $100 for her son?s back to school shopping.

"This year we have decided to do our shopping over a period of time. We were just waiting for the uniforms to come in this week," she said.

"I think the main thing is to plan your shopping before coming. Impulsive buying may cause a shortage of cash which means people may not be able to meet the actual needs for their children to prepare for the new school year."
