Sunday, December 17, 2017

PARENTS and guardians of students from households with a combined income of under $16,000 can now apply for subsidised student eTransport cards.

According to Government, parents and guardians can apply for subsidised cards until December 22.

"All parents and guardians of Year 1 students entering school should check if they meet the eligibility criteria for the subsidised student eTransport cards," a government statement said.

"The Ministry of Education also encourages the parents and guardians of all students to re-examine the eligibility criteria for subsidised student eTransport cards to determine whether or not any new circumstances have affected their eligibility, such as a parent or guardian who has retired."

The statement said the Ministry of Education was ready to distribute subsidised student eTransport cards to students, but provided parents had applied for it.

"Subsidised student eTransport cards will be available for pick-up at school locations before the start of Term 1. The exact dates the cards will be available will be announced soon," he said.

Students, who are not eligible for the subsidised fare, can collect the non-subsidised cards at school locations before the start of Term 1.

"Parents and guardians of students who do not qualify for the subsidised eTransport cards do not need to submit an application," the statement said.

"The exact dates the cards will be available will be announced soon."

Application forms for subsidised eTransport cards would be available in education offices and at all school locations.
