Airline tries to minimise disruptions

FIJI Airways yesterday faced delays in some of their services after some staff members of Air Terminal Services walked off their jobs to attend an ATS Employers Trust beneficiary meeting.

The airline's general manager corporate communications said this affected other airlines operating out of Nadi.

"Several employees of ATS — the ground-handling and catering company at Nadi airport walked off their jobs affecting airlines operating out of Nadi," he said.

"These included check-in agents, porters, baggage sorters/handlers, load controllers, and others who work alongside Fiji Airways staff to ensure the smooth running of operations at the airport."

He said as a result some services such as catering on board were affected and delays were expected to occur.

"Fiji Airways will do its best to ensure disruptions are minimised, and sincerely apologises to guests for the inconvenience caused."
