ONE of Fiji's retail giants has teamed up with a local designer to launch a brand new range of resort wear with a difference.

Jack's of Fiji has partnered with print designer Sonam Sapra to launch the resort wear collection titled Baby Boo.

The collection features a range of luxury kaftans, beach kimonos, beach bags and cushion covers which Ms Sapra said were inspired by Fiji's natural surroundings and embodied her carefree and island lifestyle.

She said what made Baby Boo different was the fact that all the prints were hand-drawn.

She added that the rich and vibrant prints were reminiscent of the ever-changing colours of Fijian life and the ocean.

"Baby Boo is really a play on words that represents my life and upbringing on Taveuni Island and this is reflected in my prints and clothes — an island girl with a Western influence," she said.

"The label itself is young and fresh like the young coconut which is bu in Fijian, but for Western commercial purposes I spelt it Boo, like my love."

Ms Sapra said working with Jack's of Fiji has opened up a lot of new opportunities for her.

"It has been an adventurous and inspiring journey so far working with the different departments of Jack's of Fiji — from product development to manufacturing and marketing which has brought this collaboration to life."

The designer said Baby Boo was created using exceptional, comfortable fabric that offered all modern women a taste of fashion and femininity.

Baby Boo is available at Jack's of Fiji Nadi Town, Port Denarau and Suva City.
