POLICE have confirmed they have questioned Salaseini Maramaeluvuka, the lone survivor of the house fire that killed two adults and three children at VM Pillay Rd in Lautoka in August.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said while they were able to interview her, they could not able to release any details.

Ms Maramaeluvuka lost her daughter Hazel Ranadi in the horrific incident.

Among the deceased were her best friends Merewalesi Suka, Unaisi Telei Bavadra and her primary school-aged cousins, Luisa Torocake and Sefanaia Baleisolomone.

National Fire Authority communications officer Ritesh Singh said they could not release any information on investigations to the public.

"We have completed our investigations, but the report was given to police," he said.

"We cannot make any statements on the matter."
